The Watershed School Welcomes a new middle school math and science teacher
Lisa Beattie has accepted the middle school math and science position at Watershed.
Ms Beattie has taught 8 years with the FNSBSD. She is returning to teaching after taking two years off to complete a masters degree in statistics from UAF.
Her graduate work culminated in a project with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game working on statistical modeling of fish populations. In addition to her extensive experience teaching high school mathematics, she utilized her physical science and biology majors to teach various science classes.

School year 2010 start dates
The first kindergarten school day is August 25th. Watershed kindergarten students start one week later than the rest of the kids so kindergarten assessments can be completed. Parents will be contacted the previous week to arrange for appointment times.
All other students (1-8) will begin school at 8:30 on Wednesday August 18th.

The Watershed Community is pleased to welcome our newest staff member. Deona Chavez has left Anderson Elementary to replace Ms McKee as our first grade teacher. Ms. Chavez is very excited to meet all the Watershed children and parents at our welcome back picnic in August (details forthcoming).
We are currently screening a very large field of applicants in preparation for this month's interviews for our new 7th/8th grade math and science teacher.
Watershed celebrates the end of its first year and recognized its first graduating eight grade class.

The Watershed School Handbook 2010-2011
The Watershed School has set hours of operation for 2010-2011.
School will be in session from 8:30 (with a 8:15 drop-off) to 3:00.
These hours apply to our full day kindergarten, along with grades 1-8.
