Calling for school photos!

Yearbook Photos:

If you have photos from this year's classroom activities, field trips, sports, family events, or from around the school, please consider sharing them in the Watershed Yearbook.  Please drop off at least medium-high resolution photos at the office on CD, DVD, thumb-drive or email to jlmoss@alaska.edu
 
We may also include a section for photos from the end of last year's field trips since they occurred after the print deadline, so send those along too if you have some.    Thanks from the Yearbook Club!

Due to public demand, The Watershed School has opened the application period for the 2012-2013 school year early.

Application and Lottery Process

January 20th through April 2nd

Prospective families of The Watershed School will follow a three-step process:

1. During the application process, parents and guardians must attend one information meeting to learn about the philosophy, curriculum, and daily operation of the school. These will be held on March 19 and 21st.

Sourdough Pancake Breakfast

The third annual Watershed School Pancake Breakfast will be held on January, 28th from 9:00-11:00.

Breakfast includes sourdough pancakes, sausage links, and your choice of coffee, orange juice or hot cocoa.

The cost is $5.00 for children and $7.00 for adults.

Christmas Tree Recycling

Students and parents are encouraged to recycle and set an example for  
fellow students and parents in the community. Representatives of The Watershed School 8th  
grade class is developing a vision statement that describes a more  
sustainable future for Fairbanks. They will present this vision to the  
Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly and School District Board in mid-
April in recognition of Earth Day. Diverting used Christmas trees from  
the local landfill is one symbolic act that illustrates the students'

Student book reviews!

Ms. Menaker, our librarian, has done an outstanding job getting our library up and running and now has added a library web page. She has posted reviews and library information under this great site.

Students at Watershed School are reading all kinds of books. Read their reviews to see if one of these books is right for you!

36 of our skiers showed up for Town Race Two on (12/3)! This accounted for more than 30% of the total field of all of the schools! We may be one of the smallest schools in town, but we sure do know how to get out and enjoy the outdoors.
